Annahstasia has unveiled the video for “Sunday,” a track from her Surface Tension EP.The visual showcases the raw tension between Annahstasia and her partner, depicted through expressive movement. As the video progresses, Annahstasia walks away, closing the chapter on a failed relationship.
“The video represents rummaging around in a wound,” she explains. “There’s an animal reactivity, a push and pull, and a failed final conversation. Love, at the wrong time or in the wrong form, can make walking away feel wrong. But that’s the trap of desire under the pressure of loss.”
Surface Tension sets the stage for Annahstasia’s forthcoming debut album, unfolding in a three-part narrative arc that explores her past relationships. Recorded at Malibu’s Shangri-la studio with producer Jason Lader and an array of talented musicians, the EP features a slower, more reflective sound than her previous project, Revival. It highlights Annahstasia’s commanding vocals and a newfound freedom in her artistic approach.
