ANTONY SZMIEREK ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM 'SERVICE STATION AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE' WITH NEW SINGLE ‘THE GREAT PYRAMID OF STOCKPORT’

Manchester poet, writer, and producer Antony Szmierek has officially revealed details of his highly anticipated debut album, Service Station At The End Of The Universe, due out on 28th February with his latest single, “The Great Pyramid Of Stockport,” blending his signature introspective lyrics with a poignant reflection on modern life.

“The Great Pyramid Of Stockport” takes its inspiration from the now-empty pyramid-shaped shopping plaza that was once part of Stockport Council’s ambitious Valley of the Kings-themed development. Drawing a parallel with the ancient pyramids of Egypt, Szmierek reflects on human nature and how even today, our monumental ambitions often leave us with surreal relics. As Szmierek puts it,

"We’re not here long, and the impossible is more possible than we think it is."

The song’s music video, directed by Zac Watson, features Szmierek in front of Stockport’s abandoned pyramid, juxtaposed with footage of Egypt’s iconic pyramids, further highlighting the contrast between past grandeur and modern-day realities.

In support of his debut album, Szmierek has also announced a UK and European headline tour, giving fans the opportunity to experience his dynamic blend of poetry, storytelling, and music live on stage.

With Service Station At The End Of The Universe, Szmierek is set to deliver a fresh take on the fusion of spoken word, music, and social commentary, solidifying his place as one of the most exciting emerging artists from Manchester.
