UK pop princess Äyanna is back with her second EP, 'About A Boy,' a heartfelt exploration of love and life in the digital age.
Released via LVRN, the EP features standout singles “Fallin 4 A Thug” and the SZA-approved “Boys Like U,” following her 2023 debut In A Perfect World. This latest body of work marks a significant evolution in Äyanna's artistry, diving deeper into personal experiences while retaining the playful and idealistic tone that defines her music.
On 'About A Boy,’ Äyanna showcases her signature blend of UKG, dancehall, reggae, and pop, crafting a contemporary sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The 9-track EP is a sonic biography, offering a more grounded look at love and relationships, filtered through the lens of Äyanna's experiences as a Black, British artist with deep Jamaican roots. Speaking on the EP, Äyanna shares;
"I'm taking a more grounded look at love, pondering how it should feel in today’s world, while drawing on my Caribbean roots and UK upbringing."
2024 has already been a breakthrough year for Äyanna, following the success of her debut EP and her impressive support slot for Tems at London’s Eventim Apollo. She also featured on Headie One's album track "Rapunzel" and performed alongside DJ Snake, Spinall, and Nasty C at the European MTV Awards, a testament to her growing global appeal.
Having grown up between East London and Jamaica, Äyanna’s music reflects the rich cultural diversity of her upbringing, blending R&B, pop, and soul with a Caribbean twist.
