AVANT-POP INNOVATOR BABII RELEASES CONCEPTUAL MASTERPIECE 'DAREDEVIIL2000' EXPLORING SINS, VIOLENCE, AND SURVIVAL

Avant-pop artist BABii returns with her highly anticipated third studio album, 'DareDeviil2000.'

With a writing camp of trusted collaborators including Samual Organ (Sega Bodega, ShyGirl) and Iglooghost, the album is an audacious blend of electronic and pop experimentation. Delving into themes of violence, sin, and survival, BABii creates an otherworldly experience both sonically and narratively.

Drawing influences from classic grime instrumentals, UK garage, bassline, and even cybercrime rap, the album has a distinctly futuristic sound that’s both gritty and ethereal. BABii’s soft, intoxicating vocals act as a contrast to the sharp beats, reminiscent of Kanye West’s 'Yeezus' and Jam City. Her disarming voice invites listeners into the Nevaworld - a dystopian, fantastical realm where each song represents a different sin and villain, from goblins to a Trash Spirit Clown named Tito Von Bricabrac. Speaking on the album, BABii shared:

'DareDeviil2000' is my reflection on Hell and the villains it engulfs. Creating this record helped me understand how villains can emerge from personal hells, shaped by their harsh realities. This album is my tribute to survival and my sympathy for the devil.”

The album’s electroclash club banger has already set fans alight at live shows. Meanwhile, “XL Bully ft. Grove” uses the 2023 ban on the titular dog as a metaphor for how external forces shape criminality.

To celebrate the release, BABii is hosting 'The DD2000 Collection Investigation and Seized Evidence Auction' at Metamorphika Studio in Hackney, London, running until October 20th. This immersive event coincides with the announcement of her Asia Tour, where she’ll perform in major cities like Tokyo and Shanghai.

With 'DareDeviil2000', BABii solidifies her status as a creative force to be reckoned with, boldly traversing the space between art and music, and crafting new realities with each release.
