London-based genre-bending artist Barny Fletcher has returned with his latest mellow-pop single, ‘Call Me By Your Name.'
Known for his eclectic sound and sharp-edged style, Barny’s new release takes a softer, more introspective turn, weaving themes of love, redemption, and emotional vulnerability into a dreamy indie-pop soundscape.
The single reflects on the power of love to bring a sense of belonging and renewal, as Barny croons in the chorus, “You release the pleasure darling, I'll release the pain / Finally feel like I belong / If this is heaven, I believe again.” With his hazy tone and cinematic storytelling, Fletcher effortlessly balances heartfelt emotion with infectious pop hooks.Speaking about the release, Barny shared,
“This song is about redemption and finding hope. About someone who brings you back to life when you’ve lost your way!”
Recorded at Slim Typical’s studio in Hoxton Square, Barny even added some playful touches, like using real spoons instead of samples in the track’s production: “A few minutes before recording one had been used to stir my coffee,” he joked.
‘Call Me By Your Name’ follows Barny’s previous release, ‘Scotch of St James,’ marking the start of what he describes as a new era in his music. Known for his genre-fluid approach, Fletcher’s sound continues to evolve into a kaleidoscopic mix of pop, R&B, hip-hop, and disco, all infused with his signature charisma.
