London-based artist CATTY is set to release her explosive debut EP Healing Out Of Spite on October 18th.
After a whirlwind year of sold-out shows and unforgettable festival appearances, London’s own CATTY is back with her long-anticipated debut EP, Healing Out Of Spite. Dropping on October 18th via AWAL, this 7-track project is a fierce, unapologetic exploration of heartbreak, anger, and, ultimately, healing. Inspired by a cancelled Vegas wedding, CATTY turns personal turmoil into music that’s not just relatable - it’s downright cathartic.
The EP is packed with singles that have already struck a chord with her growing fanbase, from the fiery “I Dated A Monster” to the bold, revenge-fueled anthem “I Wish I Gave You Hell.” The title track, “Healing Out Of Spite,” offers a synth-pop shimmer, balancing optimism with the emotional grit that defines CATTY’s sound. The latest single, “Actress,” is another biting track, showcasing her ability to channel pain into powerful pop anthems. In her own words, CATTY describes the EP as;
"the story of the last couple of years of my life. And it’s not pretty, but it’s f***ing entertaining."
While the anger is palpable in tracks like “I Wish I Gave You Hell,” CATTY emphasises that this project is about more than just rage. Healing Out Of Spite is about the messy, complex process of moving on. As she puts it,
"sometimes healing looks like reconnecting with nature and meditating, but sometimes it looks like cussing someone out and letting them go."
It’s been a monumental 12 months for CATTY. After selling out her debut headline show in just 20 minutes (before upgrading to a larger venue and selling that out too), she’s been tearing up the live scene. CATTY has supported rising stars like Dylan and Beth McCarthy and even opened for her idol, Stevie Nicks, at BST Hyde Park this summer - a dream gig that came to life after a voice note plea to the booker caught BBC News’ attention.
With her powerful vocals, raw storytelling, and fearless attitude, CATTY’s debut EP is set to resonate with anyone who’s ever been through heartbreak or doubted themselves. As the name suggests, Healing Out Of Spite is about finding strength in spite of everything.
