CELESTE TURNS HEARTACHE INTO HYPNOTIC ‘EVERYDAY’

Celeste’s latest track, ‘Everyday’, has finally hit streaming platforms after its vinyl-only drop for Record Store Day 2024, and it’s already making waves. Fans were so drawn in after clips surfaced online that Celeste gave it a full digital release - and for good reason.

Rooted in a haunting sample of Death In Vegas’ ‘Dirge’, the track’s dub-heavy pulse wraps around Celeste’s raw, aching vocals. The contrast builds a tension where vulnerability meets intensity, creating a space where emotional confusion feels almost overwhelming. Speaking about the track, Celeste shared how it emerged from a deeply personal experience:

“It was December 3rd, 2022. I was invited out by friends and didn’t really want to go but had the feeling that I should. I ended up going to Boiler Room’s Christmas party at their office in Bethnal Green, feeling a bit lonely, heartbroken, and reluctant to engage in any small talk or flirtatious conversations.”

She continued, describing the moment inspiration struck:

“I went to the dance floor and found myself engulfed in a song that felt familiar, but I wasn’t sure if I knew it or where I knew it from. I ended up speaking with a friend while dancing, but what overtook the conversation was a melody in my head. I began to record a voice note on my phone. This rarely happens to me, so I felt it was important to gather some documentation of it. I went to the smoking area to record a voice note, and the words ‘Everyday, wanna be close to him, never leave’ came to me.”

Co-written and produced with Zach Nahome, Matt Maltese, and Maverick Sabre, ‘Everyday’ explores emotional fixation and obsessive thoughts—holding onto the wrong ideas of love and turning them into a near-daily ritual of longing.

‘Everyday’ follows Celeste’s return with ‘This Is Who I Am’, marking a new creative chapter where vulnerability takes centre stage. Now streaming widely, it’s a must-listen for anyone drawn to Celeste’s more introspective work.
