Cloud X Festival, the popular independent music festival, has just announced its return on August 20th, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever before. This year, the festival will be held at Beckenham Park, a new scaled-up location, in partnership with War Child and Raw Materials, both of which have a great track record of empowering individuals and communities.
The festival, which has earned its title as the "capital's best boutique day festival," is designed for all music tastes, and its diverse and equal gender split line-up is something to be admired. Split across five stages, Cloud X Festival boasts an incredible line-up of live performances and DJ sets covering a range of genres including R&B/Alt-R&B, Rap/Alt-Rap, Soul, Pop, Afrobeats, Garage, and more.
Some of the exciting performances to look forward to include Jerusalem-born, Gaza-raised trilingual rapper Saint Levant, who has been labelled as one to watch for 2023 following his viral hit 'Very Few Friends'. UK's own Samm Henshaw will showcase songs from his debut album 'Untidy Soul,' and the talented BERWYN will be performing his thought-provoking and emotive songs with his band. Jaz Karis, the South London songstress, will also be there to steal the show with her soulful R&B voice.
Cloud X's immediate family, Santino Le Saint and Kwaku Asante, will be there to provide unbeatable vibes and showcase their latest projects, along with the label's latest signing rapper, South London's Scuti. The festival also welcomes back return visits and live sets from the incredible Etta Bond and InfamousIzak and welcomes Meron T, Neils, and Elli Ingram to the Cloud X stage.
JULS, the ultimate selector and producer, returns for his second year to share his impeccable taste with sets packed with Afrobeats, Amapiano, and more, perfect for a summer's day in London. BBC R1's DJ Ace, along with his fellow BBC family member 1xtra's DJ Victoria Jane, two of R&B's biggest on-air champions, will be pushing the genre forward. Tash LC, who heads up Club Yeke, is a festival must-see with her world view matched with Crazy Cousinz, who will be bringing the UK Funky and Garage vibes. Vivendii Sound, born out of Lagos with co-signs from Boiler Room and Dazed & Confused, will add a new layer and bring the Y2k punk spirit to the South. Capital FM's DJ and host Kamilla Rose will be there to share her love of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Dancehall with the London crowd. And last but not least, we will be joined by Cloud X's incredible resident selectors, JOJO and Clara Rose.
Cloud X Festival has become an integral part of the city's independent music scene through its events, label, and management team, co-founded by David Dabieh and Ben Cross. The festival is priced reasonably, and they have adopted the attitude of putting their community first by booking big acts before they've blown up, such as Knucks and Sainte.
Set in South London's beautiful Beckenham Park, the festival provides a much-needed space for underrepresented artists and is a huge celebration of UK talent, both live and DJ sets. With its commitment to diversity and inclusivity, Cloud X Festival is a must-attend event for any music lover and good person.
It's worth noting that a portion of the festival's proceeds will go towards War Child UK and Raw Materials, both of which are dedicated to supporting individuals and communities through difficult times. War Child works to ensure a safe future for every
