DJ HEARTSTRING have released 'You Are the Sun, I Am the Sky,' a four-track EP that captures the emotional rollercoaster of a night out under neon strobes.

The EP starts with ‘Emotion Overload’, a ravey opener packed with unrestrained euphoria. This energy carries into ‘Last Time Under Purple Skies’, a track that imagines the moment when strangers embrace on the dancefloor, eyes closed and feeling the music. Next comes ‘Green Wide Open’, a track built for Ibiza club nights, while the closer, ‘Stay Awake’, slows things down but still leaves you with one final rush.
The EP was created during a countryside retreat in Germany, where DJ HEARTSTRING, duo Leo and Jonas, were preparing for their now-viral Boiler Room set in Melbourne. Their creative fuel? Frozen pizzas. Speaking about their time making the project, the pair shared:
“We took a little trip out of Berlin to make this EP, a couple hours out of the city, into the middle of the woods. In an effort to escape the everyday life, in an effort to find some big emotions.”
Duality has been central to DJ HEARTSTRING’s sound from the start. They bring a balance of euphoria and melancholy, weaving their pop sensibilities into rave-ready beats. The Berlin-based duo, who met in their early 20s, pull from a variety of influences and life experiences to create their sound. Even their name was designed with humour, leaning into the cheesiest, most trance-inspired name they could think of.
With You Are the Sun, I Am the Sky, DJ HEARTSTRING show their knack for balancing the high of the party with the bittersweet moments that come after. Their ability to mix pop appeal with hard rave beats is what makes them so exciting. Whether they’re remixing classics or creating original tracks, they’re redefining what club music can sound like, and turning plenty of heads along the way.
