ELENI DRAKE ANNOUNCES NEW EP 'ABOVE DEEP WATER' WITH SOULFUL SINGLE 'SINGING ELVIS (PART II)'

London-based British/Greek singer-songwriter and producer Eleni Drake is back, announcing her highly anticipated EP 'Above Deep Water,' set for release on September 27th. To celebrate the announcement, Eleni has unveiled her latest single, "Singing Elvis (Part II)," the third teaser from the upcoming project, following the evocative tracks "Let it Go and Let it Be" and "Daisy (Keep My Sweater)."

Eleni Drake has been riding a wave of acclaim after standout performances at The Great Escape and SXSW festivals earlier this year. Her new EP, self-produced in collaboration with Frank Colucci, draws inspiration from iconic artists like Billie Holiday and Mazzy Star, blended with modern influences from Cleo Sol and Yazmin Lacey. The result is a collection of songs that feel timeless yet strikingly contemporary. In 'Above Deep Water,' Eleni delves into the complexities of solitude. She explains,

"The EP opens up about the desolate feelings that come from moving through life alone. But it talks about the freedom, the understanding, the acceptance, and the revelry that comes with being alone too."

Her newly released single, "Singing Elvis (Part II)," encapsulates these intense emotions with lyrics that resonate deeply, serving a captivating two-minute journey through indie-soul, blending raw emotion with a sense of liberation. Eleni elaborates on the inspiration behind "Singing Elvis":

"It's a 2 part story. The first half captures the sweetness of a blossoming relationship, where everything feels perfect, and romance is in the air. Part II, however, reflects the inevitable change — when things don’t go as hoped, people grow apart. It expresses my need to be alone, to escape the exhaustion of unmet expectations and constant striving. Sometimes, it’s better to embrace solitude."
