Ellie Dixon has just dropped a new remix of ‘Guts’, and this time, she’s teamed up with piri, one half of the duo piri & tommy. The track, already one of Dixon’s most-streamed releases, gets a fresh twist with piri’s signature vocals, infectious energy, and a playful new perspective.

Originally a deeply personal track about anxiety, ‘Guts’ now bursts with an added layer of confidence, all while keeping its raw, honest core. Mastered at Abbey Road Studios, ‘Guts’ has been Dixon’s fastest-growing track, currently racking up streams at a rate that shows no signs of slowing down. The remix introduces a unique mix of samba, rock, and drum and bass, with piri injecting her Britney-esque ad-libs and a verse that flips the track’s theme on its head.
“I loved ‘Guts’ from the moment I first heard the beat,” piri says. “The track is such a journey, and the lyrics are so deeply relatable. I really resonate with not being a party person when I was younger, but with my verse, I wanted to add the angle that actually, these days, both me and Ellie love a party—you can find the guts with the right people around you.”
Dixon echoes the sentiment, adding:
“I’m constantly inspired by piri, she’s such a talented writer and producer, so this remix was a super fun process. We sat together and basically reimagined the track through her world, playing with synths and vocal stacks. When I first put ‘Guts’ out, we really bonded over the meaning as we’d had similar experiences as teenagers. It’s a really personal song, so having someone who honestly contributed to the story was so important.”
This release marks another step in Ellie Dixon’s current era, which kicked off with Renaissance last year. After unexpectedly parting ways with her label, Dixon channelled the experience into a new sonic direction; grittier, bolder, and more self-assured. Tracks like ‘Green Grass’, ‘Big Lizard Energy’, and ‘Dopamine’ already showcased her ability to blend personal storytelling with innovative production, but ‘Guts’ takes things further, proving she’s fully in control of her artistic vision.
With the remix of ‘Guts’, Dixon and piri have created something that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly fun. The track captures the shift from anxiety to self-acceptance, reminding listeners that confidence doesn’t have to come all at once, it can be found in the right people, the right places, and sometimes, in the right remix.
