UK hip-hop legend Fliptrix is continuing his run of high quality with the release of his new single ‘Eden’.
Produced by the infamous Illinformed, ‘Eden’ is the first song Fliptrix penned on returning to music after a hiatus that saw him relocate to another country, in search of a brighter future. With the extended break came a flurry of new insights, primed for the right moment in time. The result is quintessential Fliptrix: flawless penmanship made up of spiralling references rooted in the aforementioned quest for paradise and the various life changes that comprise a brand new way of being.
A legendary hip hop artist within the UK boom bap scene, the London-born lyricist plies his trade as a solo artist, as well as being one-quarter of acclaimed outfit The Four Owls and managing director of the hugely influential High Focus Records. A regular on hip hop podcasts you may have heard him on Romesh Ranganathan's Hip Hop Saved My Life.
Creating music has always been a deeply personal experience for Fliptrix, and ‘Eden’ is one of the best examples in his catalogue. The track is a journey of self-discovery, pairing key social commentary with an overriding message that turns negatives into positives, and ultimately sees Fliptrix thrive - instead of merely survive.
It is the third single lifted from Fliptrix’s impending ninth solo album ‘Mantra No. 9’, following on from ‘Primordial Soup’, a collaboration with long-time collaborator King Kashmere, and title track ‘Mantra No. 9’.
The release of ‘Eden’ further heightens the anticipation for the release of Fliptrix’s long-awaited new album.
