If you were anywhere near Belgrave Hall in Leeds, you probably felt the walls shaking. Niko B, Milton Keynes’ very own voice of the next generation, brought his signature mix of bouncy tunes and laid-back humour to a sold-out crowd - and Leeds was more than ready for it.
With his debut album dog eat dog food world still fresh and singles like Who's That Dealer holding their spot in countless playlists, expectations for this show were high. But Niko didn’t just meet them - he smashed them.
The night kicked off with Victory Lap founder and DJ Joekid, whose ear for the underground and smooth, seamless mixing set the tone. Hip-hop, rap, and forward-thinking sounds combined to create a warm-up that felt more like its own mini-party. If you weren’t already familiar with Joekid, this was your sign to take notes.
Then came the main event. Niko B hit the stage, smoke swirling, bouncing with the kind of energy that gets the whole room moving instantly. He wasted no time diving into fan favourites from dog eat dog food world. Tracks like trespass coat and miniclip had the crowd shouting every word back at him, his sharp, witty lyrics hitting even harder live.
Niko’s set wasn’t just about the new. He gave a nod to his come-up, pulling out the tracks that built his name - Mary Berry, Quick Drive, and the inevitable Who's That What's That. The nostalgia only seemed to fuel the crowd more.
For anyone who’s seen Niko’s Boiler Room set, it was no surprise when Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John made its way into the setlist. Tom and Joe danced across the stage to the whistling classic, the moment feeling like a throwback to early-2000s TV ads in the best way possible.
Newer material wasn’t left behind either. Niko brought out his latest single Just Call Me, talking about its video and dropping a nod to his Jim Halpert-inspired split-screen antics.
And then there was Who's That Dealer. If there was ever a track to close the night, this was it. The bass hit, the crowd jumped, and Niko left Leeds on a high note.
With an EU tour now on the cards and momentum building for 2025, Niko B’s rise isn’t slowing down anytime soon. You’d better believe the next shows will sell out just as fast. If you haven’t seen him live yet, don’t miss your chance.
Niko B at Belgrave Hall: chaotic, hilarious, and pure energy. Leeds, you should be proud.
