IZZY S.O EMBRACES CHANGE AND SELF-TRUST IN HER LATEST SINGLE "HOMESICK"

Getting to grips with change can be notoriously challenging, but Izzy S.O's latest single, “Homesick,” serves as a powerful reminder to look forward and trust yourself.

With slick, nostalgic guitars and Izzy's gorgeous vocals, "Homesick" is a track that's endlessly playable and deeply empowering. Written at the start of last year during a time of significant life changes, “Homesick” captures the blend of fear and excitement that comes with facing the unknown. Sharing more behind the track, Izzy explains,

“‘Homesick’ is about that free-falling feeling when you’re no longer tied to the things that made you feel safe. It’s an observation of the fear while fully knowing you’re in the right place and that these changes are good. Listening back to it today makes me feel proud of where I am now. It makes me want to give my younger self a hug to remind her that she’s strong enough to do all the things.”

"Homesick" is the final single ahead of Izzy's upcoming new EP, also titled Homesick, set to arrive on August 9th. The new single follows "Crisis," a euphoric guitar banger that dropped in April, reflecting on a challenging relationship and embracing being single. "Crisis" was the third single of the year for Izzy, showcasing her consistent growth and resilience.

2024 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Izzy S.O, who kicked off with the angsty track "Refuse" in January. Clash Magazine highlighted her sound as a blend of ‘90s production with Gen Z bedroom pop and described Izzy as “an absolute powerhouse.” Her hard work and dedication since launching are starting to pay off in big ways.

Last November, Izzy released her sophomore EP, Silly Me, an impressive five-track body of work that marked a coming-of-age moment. Born in the West Midlands, Izzy S.O grew up in a creative household that encouraged musical expression. A lover of books, she naturally gravitated towards poetry, which evolved into a talent for lyricism. Over the pandemic, she refined her sound with producer Dustin Dooley, blending pop-rock, indie, and grunge influences.
