Having moved to sunnier shores from his hometown’s shrouded and dismal cover, London-born rapper, singer, producer, and creative Jay Prince has been undergoing a transformation over the last few years that has taken hold not only of his creative output, but of the things that lie deeper—his spirituality and self-growth. He now returns in 2025 with his latest single, ‘Chasing Thrills’.

Over the last four years, the Californian West Coast has served as a catalyst for Prince’s sonic evolution, leading him to pursue ambitious territories inspired by the psych-rock star Tame Impala. This latest release hears him bounce across a sunny guitar progression as he recounts the beauty of his sun-soaked life in LA. ‘Chasing Thrills’ then morphs into a genre-bending palette of grandiose synths, where Prince’s profound spiritual evolution can be felt with magnitude.

‘Chasing Thrills’ follows a hearty 2024 for the London-born creative, which included a selection of solo singles and releases with diverse collaborators such as qu, Blue Lab Beats, and Branko. Prince’s musical output last year ran alongside his continued personal mission of self-transformation, leading him on an impactful trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to reconnect with his roots. This is to say, with ‘Chasing Thrills’, Jay Prince tees up 2025 with his signature affective output, which has been inspiring his listeners to live in the present and find joy in the world around them.
