Jordan Alexander, Toronto’s multi-talented icon-in-waiting, is making waves with the release of the vibrant remix of her single ‘Scared To Get Close’, featuring the acclaimed R&B-reggae fusion artist Omega Mighty. This summer anthem for the girls comes accompanied by a visually captivating one-take video shot in Toronto, capturing the artists in perfect synchronicity.

Omega Mighty brings her distinctive reggae flavour to ‘Scared To Get Close’, complementing Jordan Alexander’s shimmering original with his smooth verse. The remix not only enriches the track with new dimensions but also underscores the city’s need for more female collaborations in music. Reflecting on the collaboration, Omega shares,

“It’s such a smooth, flirty summer vibe - a song for the gyal dem - the hopeless romantics.”

Serving as a teaser for Jordan’s upcoming debut album, 'Now You’re Caught Up', scheduled to drop on September 4th, the album, executively produced by Juno Award and Polaris Prize-winning artist Haviah Mighty, promises nine tracks of infectious bangers. Combining modern pop sensibilities with playful 80s synths and Afrobeat influences, the project explores life and love through the lens of a young queer woman navigating Toronto’s vibrant cultural landscape. Describing the album, Jordan Alexander explains,

“Now You’re Caught Up is a snapshot, it’s being sucked into the distorted mind of me heartbroken. All the songs on the album are different variations of me processing a situation.”

As Jordan Alexander continues to redefine pop music with her bold and authentic storytelling, 'Now You’re Caught Up' promises to be a standout debut, showcasing her evolution as an artist and a cultural force to be reckoned with.
