JOY CROOKES DROPS FIERCE NEW SINGLE 'PASS THE SALT' FEAT. VINCE STAPLES

Joy Crookes makes her bold return with the release of 'Pass The Salt' featuring Vince Staples, delivering sharp lyrics and heavy bass in a track that doesn’t hold back.

Humorous and cutting, it takes aim at someone who crossed her, showing she’s still one of the UK's most captivating voices. The track's pounding bassline fuels Joy’s takedown of a rumour-spreader, with Vince Staples' feature adding even more weight. Joy describes the inspiration directly:

“It’s about a woman I vaguely know who got jealous and spread rumours about me. The song is basically me squaring up, musically saying, ‘If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.’”

This latest release marks Joy’s first new release in three years, following the success of her debut album Skin in 2021. Throughout Skin, Joy explored personal themes like family, generational trauma, heartbreak, and politics from her South London perspective, earning critical praise and BRIT and Mercury Prize nominations with her unique sound, blending vulnerability and sharp wit.

'Pass The Salt' proves Joy’s as fearless as ever, stepping back into the spotlight with music that hits just as hard as her earlier work.
