While dreaming provides us with the freedom to explore any possible path in life, it can also leave us disillusioned and disconnected from what we have in front of us. In her newest single ‘Home Alone’, written alongside her brother Florian Fourlin, French singer, songwriter and producer Léa Sen explores what she calls her “worst flaw that is also [her] best quality”.
In this latest tender, guitar-led single Léa illuminates the reality of her chronic daydreaming. ‘Home Alone’ is humble and serene, as her vocals - which have seen her collaborate with the likes of Sampha, Joy Orbisson and Vegyn - can be heard weaving throughout tracks glitching, experimental pop production.
On her ability to daydream, she says “It’s brought me incredible highs and, at times, left me stuck in a prison of the worlds I created in my mind. I can feel like I’m flying above reality one moment and falling behind the next, caught between daydreams and ambition, love and limerence. Being a wild dreamer lets me shape new realities through music, but no one’s there to pull me back when life calls. It’s a contradiction I live with every day—a blessing and a curse.”
‘Home Alone’ marks a strong start to 2025 for Léa Sen, providing the first taste of a larger project currently in the works.
