Latvian-born, London-raised artist LEGZDINA unveils a sultry new track, ‘Icing On The Cake’, a tender ode to the intoxicating haze of falling in love.
LEGZDINA, known for her poetic flair and sonic sorcery, has just dropped her latest single, ‘Icing On The Cake’. Featuring a liquid, airy production by Slxm Sol of Rudimental and guitar touches from Ashton Sellars, the track is an ethereal and intimate portrayal of love’s dizzying, all-encompassing power. The song transports listeners to a sunlit morning, where love lingers from the night before and the thought of never leaving your lover’s side is all that matters. Speaking about the track, LEGZDINA explains,
“‘Icing On The Cake’ is about the morning after the party the night before. You’re locked in and you’re in love. There’s midday sun rays coming through the shutters, and all you can think about is never leaving this somebody’s side. For immortal love and lust, you offer up your soul completely. It’s a cheeky little liquid roller, this one is about wanting to throw away someone’s home keys so they have to stay with you. Love is all we have.”
‘Icing On The Cake’ arrives hot on the heels of her recent junglist anthem ‘Bitter Truth’, and her hypnotic debut single, ‘Come Roll With Me’, a lush liquid drum’n’bass track that featured production from Slxm Sol alongside Rudimental’s Piers & Kesi. Known for her unique blend of ethereal vocals and sung-rap style, LEGZDINA’s music often balances dreamy, soulful elements with bolder, more provocative themes.
LEGZDINA’s dynamic career doesn’t stop at drum’n’bass. She recently collaborated with techno powerhouse Sara Landry on the explosive single ‘Pressure’, a track that’s been shaking up dancefloors worldwide. LEGZDINA performed the song live with Sara at the Boiler Room London Festival in August, where she also hosted the Teletech stage, further solidifying her place in the underground scene.
Beyond her music, LEGZDINA is a passionate advocate for creative spaces that encourage inclusivity. She is the founder of Say It Back, a community initiative offering open-mic nights to support women and female-identifying creatives in spoken word, as well as Venus in Flames, an inclusive artistic club night that went international this summer with an event in Paris in collaboration with Nakamako.
