Leon Vynehall

Known for pushing the boundaries of electronic music, Vynehall takes a sharp left turn with this release, bringing pop elements into his rich sound palette while still delivering that bass-heavy groove that fans love. It’s a bold new chapter for the Ivor Novello-nominated producer, one that feels like a natural progression for an artist who refuses to be confined.

Shellac is a masterclass in production, with warm, infectious vocals and a driving beat that crescendos into a cathartic release. It’s the kind of track that feels primed for the club season, perfectly designed to get bodies moving. Vynehall himself explained the vision behind the track, saying,

"SHELLAC takes what I love about pop – infectious vocal hooks – and pairs it with what I love about UK club music – low-end bass and a shuffled groove.  I was looking for the perfect vocal sample for SHELLAC, flicking through older records and CDs, but I couldn't find it, so I made one myself..."

This fusion of pop and UK club culture feels seamless, as the track delivers on both fronts, blending a catchy hook with the kind of gritty, underground energy that defines his work.

What’s even more impressive is Vynehall’s attention to detail. After searching for the perfect vocal sample and coming up short, he decided to create his own, and the result is pure gold. It’s this meticulous approach that has solidified Vynehall as a true artist in the electronic scene, someone who is constantly innovating while remaining true to his roots. His work has always stood out for its complexity and depth, and Shellac is no different.

With Shellac, Leon Vynehall is ushering in a new era of music that sees him stepping into fresh territory while still keeping his core sound intact. This track is more than just a pop-tinged club cut - it’s a statement from an artist who continues to evolve and expand the boundaries of what electronic music can be.
