LISA, RAYE AND DOJA CAT EXUDE CONFIDENCE WITH ALL-FEMALE COLLABORATION ‘BORN AGAIN’

The 2000’s had ‘Lady Marmalade’, the 2010’s had ‘Bang Bang’, and there’s no doubt ‘Born Again’ is the 2020’s equivalent.
Lisa, RAYE, and Doja Cat

Packing together three fierce ladies who aren’t afraid to stand up for what they believe in meant that this song was never going to enter the music world lightly.

Lisa sets the scene with some excellent call and response between her and Raye detailing, “In the car top down with my shades on, oh”, while London’s finest answers,“Looking so good can I add.”

The Korean idol finishes the first verse with, “Please tell your mother Imma miss her” before Raye chimes in with her signature belts, “If you tried just a little more times / I could've made you a believer.”

All three artists are powerhouses: Lisa’s braggadocious persona, Raye’s determination to call out industry figureheads, and Doja Cat who constantly defies genres and expectations.

Doja Cat embraces her pop persona gliding along the groovy string melody before swapping to her routine rap cadence, “I can’t be your sugar mum get a job for me said, ah.”

The final chorus, introduced by a trademark Raye vocal run, feels like a victory lap. The accompanying video builds on this idea with each artist incorporating gladiator armour into their silk-flowing outfits.

The Blackpink star, now soloist, Lisa, is following in the footsteps of fellow girl group member, Jennie, as she prepares for her acting debut. Lisa is starring in ‘White Lotus’ with ‘Born Again’ being used to soundtrack the latest trailer.

Yet this isn’t the first time this song has been in the public eye. In 2021, Raye took to Instagram live to express heartbreak after years of debut album pushbacks before playing tracks like ‘Buss It Down.’ and the original solo take of ‘Born Again’, both now officially released.

This acts as a single for K-pop star Lisa’s upcoming project, with the help of Raye and Doja Cat, each listen is crisp, it’s almost like you’re ‘Born Again’.
