Storyteller of the North London streets Louis Dunford is set to release his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Be Lucky’, on February 14, via RCA Records.
Named in honor of his fanbase and their signature motto, the album dives deep into the lives, stories, and spirit of North London, showcasing Dunford’s unique ability to turn everyday narratives into soulful music. The album is available for preorder now, inviting fans to join him on this journey of humor, resilience, and raw emotion.
Louis’ latest single, ‘Billy Flynn of Bethnal Green’, introduces listeners to an East End boxer who reinvents himself in Soho’s vibrant drag scene, inspired by a friend of his father. Another track, ‘The Local’, is a love letter to the weekend pub scene, celebrating the lively characters and sense of community that define these moments.
“I wanted it to capture the antics, the sense of community - It’s where I go when I’m up, down, or somewhere in between,” Louis explains.
For Dunford, ‘Be Lucky’ is also deeply personal. Some tracks have been taking shape over the years, particularly since the tragic loss of his friend, Ben Kinsella. "This album is my story and his,” Louis shares, describing it as a heartfelt tribute and a way of keeping his friend's memory alive. The album explores the step-by-step journey of processing grief and finding resilience, adding depth and emotional gravity to his work.
Louis Dunford’s journey continues on February 14, when ‘Be Lucky’ introduces listeners to an artist deeply connected to his roots and eager to share his stories with the world.
