MØ RETURNS WITH ELECTRIFYING SINGLE ‘WHO SAID’ SIGNALLING A NEW CHAPTER

Produced in collaboration with Nick Sylvester (LCD Soundsystem, Channel Tres) and co-written with Clementine Douglas, ‘Who Said’ is the culmination of a creative process that began back in 2015. The track’s journey spanned several years and continents, with MØ crafting and refining it between Copenhagen and Los Angeles. Known for the introspective themes of her previous album ‘Motordrome’, MØ weaves a playful but deeply reflective narrative in ‘Who Said’, exploring her resistance to change and fear of commitment. MØ reveals,

“I wrote the first demo for this song in 2015... I always loved the chorus, but it wasn’t until I started working with Nick last year that it began to take real shape.”

With a punchy chorus and layers of sonic textures, the song showcases a new facet of MØ’s ever-evolving artistry, blending her Nordic roots with a more global, experimental sound. The release of ‘Who Said’ also coincides with the 10th anniversary of MØ’s breakthrough debut album ‘No Mythologies to Follow’, a milestone that was celebrated with a Deluxe Edition and sold-out performances at London’s XOYO and Copenhagen’s Vega. Thematically, MØ reflects on change:

"The song is about my fear of commitment and wanting to hold onto my non-committal nature... It’s about confronting the truth and letting go of the ‘delulu’ mindset.”

With ‘Who Said’, MØ offers a first taste of what’s to come in 2024 and beyond, continuing to challenge expectations while staying true to her signature sound. Prepare for more bold releases as MØ enters this exciting new phase of her career.
