Following the success of ‘Whimsical Charm Side A’ in July, Nevmore is back to complete the saga with ‘Whimsical Charm Side B,’ a project that highlights his love for old-school boom bap while bringing a relaxed vibe suited for sunny days and a laid-back atmosphere.
This four-track EP showcases Nevmore’s ability to blend classic hip-hop sounds with his signature chill, conversational style. Reflecting on ‘Whimsical Charm Side B’, Nevmore explained his vision:
“I wanted something that was proper Nevmore, proper old school, and paying homage to those who paved the way.”
With tracks like “The English Channel,” “Mirrors,” “Three Stripes,” and “Big Money Spender,” the EP exudes an authentic boom-bap vibe, infused with Nevmore’s charm and lyrical prowess.
To bring this EP to life, Nevmore collaborated with an impressive lineup of producers, including Mulade, Thugs Bunny, and Denny LAflare. Each producer brings a unique element, from Mulade’s jazz-influenced touch to Thugs Bunny’s familiarity with Nevmore’s style, and Denny LAflare’s gritty, seasoned beats that have powered tracks for Griselda’s Westside Gunn, Rome Streetz, and Armani Caesar.

Nevmore shared, noting that Denny’s influence gave the EP the grit he aimed for.
Adding to the EP’s appeal, Nevmore teams up once more with Black Josh of Blah Records, a recurring collaborator, who brings energy and flair to “Three Stripes.” The synergy between Nevmore and Black Josh is evident, echoing their previous work on “Cantona” from the ‘Make Your Mind Up Son’ mixtape in 2023.
The track “Mirrors” stands out with a visually engaging music video directed by Azim “Renecide” Miah. Known for his previous work on Nevmore’s videos, Renecide brings his creative expertise, blending visually dynamic storytelling with a range of techniques to elevate the track’s introspective vibe.
With ‘Whimsical Charm Side B,’ Nevmore closes out 2024 on a high note, leaving listeners with a sense of his versatility and dedication to his craft. This release not only celebrates Nevmore’s distinct sound but also cements his role as a passionate curator of hip-hop’s timeless essence.
