Rising singer-songwriter Nina Cobham makes a strong statement with ‘Mejor Contigo (Homesick)’, a delicate yet infectious alt-pop offering that weaves together English and Spanish storytelling.

With soft, ethereal vocals and warm, layered production, the track captures a moment of transition, when self-reliance makes way for emotional connection.
“I love home and being in my own space, but there was an extra layer now of missing this person,” Nina shares. “At the beginning, I was living in my studio apartment, doing my own thing, but then someone comes into your life, and you end up incorporating them in it. Suddenly, I wanted him in my space.”
This balance between independence and intimacy mirrors the larger themes in Nina’s music, her ongoing navigation of identity, belonging, and cultural duality. Born in Leeds and raised in Manchester, Nina spent her formative years frequently traveling to a small Spanish mountain town where her family would return year after year. That connection to place, and the idea of chosen belonging, has shaped her artistry from the start.
Since her 2019 debut ‘Te extraño, pero…’, Nina has carved out a distinct space in alternative pop, blending elements of Spanish bossa nova with a modern indie aesthetic. After a playful challenge from her Spanish-speaking family to write songs they could understand, she fully embraced bilingual songwriting, unlocking a new creative identity in the process.
With three EPs (‘what colour does this feel like?’ in 2021, ‘Middle of Nowhere’ in 2023, and last year’s ‘Antes’), she has built a loyal audience, amassing over 50 million streams.
