London-based artist and fashion trailblazer Saràh Phenom makes a powerful statement with her debut EP, 'Girl.'
Known for her genre-blurring style and unfiltered storytelling, Saràh weaves an intricate tapestry of her life’s journey, with tracks like "Tesla" and "10%" already gaining acclaim from outlets like BBC Introducing, COLORS, and Clash. Girl offers a sonic journey through amapiano, pop, R&B, and D&B, embodying the complexities of her experiences navigating self-growth, relationships, and the fast-paced life of London.
Saràh describes Girl as a collection of the "accumulated experiences" of the past two years, capturing the “liberation of a Black woman” in a fearless, chaotic, and energetic style.
“Most of the songs feel like streams of consciousness,” Saràh explains, “not extremely introspective, just passive enough to be danced on.”
Her journey is one of evolution, influenced by her unique cross-cultural upbringing in Rwanda, Belgium, and now London. The EP, with tracks like Ou La La, Boyfriend In Paris, and Don’t Stop, channels her growth and complexity through a borderless and adventurous sound.
Having grown up with a unique perspective shaped by her African and European roots, Saràh uses Girl to explore what it means to forge your path while honouring one’s multifaceted identity.
As she invites us into her “little fantasy world,” Girl stands as an anthem for those seeking to celebrate their complexity and redefine themselves on their terms.
