With just five tracks, Curaçao-raised and now Netherlands-based DJ and producer Tera Kòrá connects cultures, blending Caribbean warmth with global influences on his debut EP, Ultramar.
True to its title—the Latin for “overseas”—Tera Kòrá’s debut EP, Ultramar, transports listeners to the balmy romance of Curaçao through his latest radiant, sun-soaked production. Rich with collaborations, Ultramar features international voices from the African and Caribbean diaspora, including Nigeria’s AYLØ, Ghana’s Yung D3mz and Twitch 4EVA, and Netherlands-based Yung Dada.
Having crafted the EP from a palette of Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, soul, and jazz, Tera Kòrá creates a celebration of sound and his heritage across the five track release. He explains;
“My musical project is not only an expression of my passion for music but also a tribute to my roots and the inspiring sounds of my island”.
“Growing up in Curaçao shaped my identity and my love for music,” he reflects. “I realized that few artists from my generation were making music that could resonate beyond our borders."
