London and Lagos collide as Tim Lyre links up with BINA. to tell both sides of a fractured romance ahead of his new album SPIRAL

BINA. Tim Lyre

Caught in a conversation between two lovers is where we find ourselves in Tim Lyre’s latest single, ‘Storytime’ . Ahead of his upcoming album SPIRAL, the rising Nigerian star enlists the help of UK indie-soul artist BINA. to recount the final moments between a couple as they come to terms with the last chapter of their relationship. ‘Storytime’ captures the moment when truth becomes inevitable, and the time for answers is now:  "Well, if it's over, then tell me."

Stripped-back and melancholic, Tim Lyre continues to explore his take on neo-soul production, blending acceptance and nostalgia into a balmy sonic package on this latest single. ‘Storytime’ also arrives with an intimate music video featuring both Tim Lyre and BINA., and directed by Chris Saunders.

Following recent singles ‘Rocketship’ and ‘BETTER4U’, the Nigerian riser has been gearing listeners up for an album stamped with his signature afro-fusion style and one that pushes the boundaries of his current catalogue, blending elements of afrobeats, highlife, jazz, boom bap, and R&B.

‘Storytime’ marks a strong return for Lyre and is one that boasts his sensitivity for unfiltered and personal bodies of work, a hallmark of the Nigerian songwriter, whose upcoming album, slated for release later this year, promises to unveil even more of his soul-searching journey.
