Layered over delicate acoustic guitar chords, ultravividpink’s voice is both powerful and vulnerable as she unpacks the pain of a recent breakup. The track’s lyrics, “Hate to hate you, push you off a pedestal, I’d love to shake you lose,” are intimate and haunting, capturing the tension between love and heartbreak with beautifully arranged harmonies and soulful melodies that create a truly immersive listening experience.

Reflecting on the creation of "Hate 2 Hate u," ultravividpink shares that the song emerged from a challenging time, following her first major heartbreak. Teaming up with her friend and producer Hugo Silvani from Pale Waves, along with talented writer and guitarist Sam Finklestein, she transformed her sorrow into music.

“It ended up being one of the most cathartic sessions I ever had,” she says.

When Hugo’s band commitments called him away, she continued the journey with her primary producer and close friend Tim (also known as block), who helped shape the song into its final form, especially with his signature harmonies, which add depth and warmth to the song. Since her debut release Pink Hues in 2022, ultravividpink, who is of Spanish and Venezuelan descent, has been creating music that feels deeply personal and vulnerable, often exploring themes like co-dependency, anxiety, and love.

With more music on the way, "Hate 2 Hate u" is a beautiful example of ultravividpink’s ability to channel heartbreak into art, making her mark in London’s pop scene. Each song is another step forward in what promises to be a remarkable journey for this multi-talented newcomer.
