West London’s rising star ultravividpink has officially landed her debut EP, ULTRA. This six-track project cements her status as a significant new voice in pop, blending emotive R&B melodies, intricate production, and storytelling that cuts straight to the heart.
With ULTRA, ultravividpink delves into love, lust, heartbreak, and self-discovery themes. Balancing tenderness and charm, the EP explores God complexes, insecurity, and the journey to self-worth. Through rich lyrics and genre-bending sounds, ultravividpink crafts a narrative that feels universal yet deeply personal.
Opening track “Ultra” sets the tone with syncopated percussion, lush chords, and futuristic production, highlighting the artist’s impressive vocal range. Meanwhile, “Enredada” (Spanish for "Tangled Up") offers a vibrant mix of Favela funk, jersey beats, and R&B, sung in ultravividpink’s native Spanish and bursting with texture and melody.
The EP’s focus track, “End it Now,” takes listeners on a raw emotional journey. Featuring guest artist elevatetoday, whose raspy vocals add depth, the song navigates themes of co-dependency and self-sabotage. The closing track, “Hate 2 Hate U,” strips everything back with delicate guitar chords and earnest lyrics reflecting on the pain of a breakup: “Hate to hate you, push you off a pedestal, I’d love to shake you loose.”
Produced by close collaborator AKA block, with co-writing contributions from Aaria Tae, ULTRA is the product of a December studio marathon. Reflecting on the process, ultravividpink describes how creating this EP rebuilt her confidence and reignited her love for music:
"By the end, we had made so much good shit that I was eager to make more. The power of this project lies in its independence and self-love - it’s a reminder that being yourself is your superpower."
