Wide Awake Festival is back with a powerful first wave of announcements for 2025, promising a lineup that will make it a standout event of the summer. Set in London’s Brockwell Park, the festival has quickly earned a reputation for its genre-defying acts and emphasis on sustainability and diversity.
Taking place on May 23, 2025, this year’s lineup highlights everything from cutting-edge post-punk to electronic and indie, with plenty of rising stars and established names in the mix.
Headlining the event is Kneecap, the Irish rap trio known for their high-energy performances and clever, socially conscious lyrics delivered in both Irish and English. Hailing from West Belfast, Kneecap brings a unique sound and perspective, having gained wide acclaim for their latest album, Fine Art, and an autobiographical film.
Joining them is CMAT, the Irish singer-songwriter known for her witty lyrics and genre-bending style, along with Mercury Prize-winning band English Teacher.
Wide Awake continues to expand the festival experience by curating acts that push the boundaries of music. This year’s lineup includes heavy-hitters like the acclaimed electronic producer Daniel Avery, punk powerhouse Mannequin Pussy, and Turkish psych-pop star Gaye Su Akyol. The lineup also features Sprints, an Irish punk group rapidly gaining attention, as well as Australian rockers Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and the protopunk legend Martin Rev, who will bring a taste of Suicide’s iconic sound.
In addition to the already impressive headliners, the festival has announced appearances from HiTech, an eclectic Detroit group known for genre-blending beats; LA-based metal act Patriarchy; and Zamrock pioneers WITCH (We Intend to Cause Havoc). Festival-goers will also enjoy unique b2b sets from electronic legends Erol Alkan and Optimo (Espacio), adding an extra layer of energy to an already jam-packed lineup.
Wide Awake prides itself on its commitment to social and environmental awareness. In 2024, the festival continued its sustainable ‘Positive Policy,’ an initiative to minimise live events' ecological footprint. With a lineup that maintains gender balance and a continued push for positive change, Wide Awake 2025 is set to be both a music lover’s paradise and a platform for social and cultural progress.
This year’s event is poised to surpass the success of 2024, which featured renowned acts like King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Slowdive, and Young Fathers. With its eclectic lineup, unique venue, and unwavering commitment to sustainability, Wide Awake 2025 is positioned as an unmissable start to the festival season.
