Up and coming menswear brand, ZABALA, led by Central Saint Martin alumnus Mat Zabala, has recently collaborated with sustainable optical brand polette to create ‘Seeds: The Beginning of a Vision’ — a new and unique collection of luxury frames.

Available to shop now on www.polette.com, the latest collection from the pair draws upon influence from the natural world, taking inspiration from the structures of seeds under microscopic lenses to create the softly geometric, subtly asymmetrical frame shape. The designs do an impeccable job at blending clean lines with organic curves, offering a modern yet natural aesthetic that feels distinctive, but most importantly effortlessly wearable.
The ZABALA brand initially started out by crafting bespoke, one-of-a-kind leather goods, but in April 2024, they took a bold step into the world of eyewear with their first public release: the Z-Frame. The Z-Frames were a special prototype edition, that came paired with a sleek vacuum moulded case that made them truly exclusive. It’s no shock, being a limited edition drop, that the glasses sold out in just one week, and with the V2 release on the horizon, the excitement only continues to build for the brand.

Speaking on the collection, Mat Zabala states: “We were super excited by the opportunity to collaborate on two unique frames with polette. At ZABALA we really want to bring affordable eyewear to our audience and this was the perfect opportunity.” With thanks to polette’s innovative factory-to-consumer model where each frame is crafted with precision, and passes through the hands of 80 optical and spectacle-making professionals, the highest quality was ensured and allowed for a truly stand out set of products to be made.
Moving forward, ZABALA is set to expand its offerings with a diverse range of products, from accessories and tailor-made garments to an upcoming ready-to-wear line. The brand has taken pride in their collaborations with industry leaders like Alpinestars, and now their latest partnership with polette is bound to push both brands to the forefront of their fields.
